Cultism has been one of the major social vices in this part of the
country, as young pupils are even seen to patronise it, resulting to
rampant deaths when these cult groups clash in their supremacy battle.
A total of seven members of the Black Axe cult group have been arrested at Emuyi community, in Esan West Local Government Area of Edo State during an initiation process to welcome new members.
According to Vanguard,
members of the military, police and civilian anti-cult group worked
together to ensure the arrest of the suspects during the initiation.
The
newspaper also reports that the cult members started shooting their
guns when they became aware of the imminent arrest in order to push for
an escape.
While
seven of their members were arrested, many others managed to escape
leaving behind their charms, regalia, initiation concoction, cut-to-size
guns among others.

Recently in Bayelsa, three men were said to be beheaded by an unknown group of assailants in their apartment on Valentines' Day leaving their neighbours devastated.
