My Dogs have started barking again, complaining in my head as I opened my eyes slowly, it was still dark outside, I touched every thing close to me trying to get a feel of my Phone, I finally got it and pressed the middle button, the light was so bright, it was 1:45Am.
Major and ugly we’re still barking, but their bark did not bother me, not until I heard voices downstairs.
I reached for my door but it was too late as I heard footsteps on the staircase so I shut my door and locked it. They heard because their footstep stooped, so I stood at the front of my door. scared, hoping that they didn’t hear me.
The Gods must be on my side because the footsteps were fading away.
But I heard my mom scream and I was terrified, Where they beating my mother? How many are they? What do they want? Questions rotating in my head as I Could not help but worry, will they kill my parents and my little sister?
Where is your daughter!? They asked
I started panicking, how did they know about me? What do they want from me?

“Open this door and if you call the police we’ll kill your parents” was the next thing I heard, unknown to them that I already have and my uncle in benin, even though we’re in abuja.
I won’t call the police but please don’t hurt my parents, I begged.

Princess don’t open the door , my mum screamed, I heard a loud noise and my mum was quiet.
I was scared for what has happened to my mother so I opened the door.
On opening, a masked huge man dragged me by my hair into my parents room, my mother was on the floor unconsious, my little sister crying and my father burying his head on the floor.
A man came entered limping from the door, he said “You! You made a fool out of me’ referring to my father. All I was waiting for was to hear sirens, It was strange how familiar his voice sounded, the next thing that happened was the turning point of my life.
I won’t call the police but please don’t hurt my parents, I begged.
We won’t hurt them if you open the door, he said….
